Red Giant Software have just released their latest and greatest version of their ‘Magic Bullet‘ grading software for After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Avid, Premiere and Motion. Not ‘or’, ‘and‘. Magic Bullet Looks is a more user friendly and fun implementation of the previous Magic Bullet, which is designed to give you, among other things, a more ‘film-like’ appearance to your video footage. I was lucky enough to be involved in Beta testing Magic Bullet Looks, and I can safely say that it’s awesome. I’ve been using Magic Bullet for awhile now and find it pretty much indispensable when working with DV footage. I’m lovin’ it. I’m still holding out for Firewire previews when using the Looks Builder, hopefully that will come in the next version!
