This was our first project (alongside the Under 12s version​) where we had extensively used DSLRs alongside our EX1, so was a massive learning experience in that aspect. I think the cameras cut very nicely together tho. We graded the whole thing with Colorista II in After Effects.

We covered a huge range of plays, workshops and interviews during the couple of months we were filming at the egg, so getting it down to 15 mins each was a big task!

We just uploaded three new trailers to the site, as well as doing a bit of housekeeping and sprucing up of the place. Should be more site design and content updates coming soon…

I’ve embedded the trailers below for ease of watching. They are all for upcoming events at the egg theatre, Bath. We made them as part of a bigger project consisting of two documentary videos about the egg, aimed at two different target audiences. Both will be online in the next couple of weeks, alongside more trailers, which will be updated regularly as part of the project.

Kidulthood meets Shakespeare in this unflinching tale of teenage drug pushers and knife-crime in an adult-less world. Written entirely in modern rhyme, Max & Beth marks the emergence of a blistering new talent with this debut play from acclaimed UK rap artist LOWKEY!

First performed at the egg in July ’08, Max & Beth will be re-touring in Summer ’09. Watch this space!’

“the egg is the Theatre Royal Bath’s award-winning theatre for children, young people and their families, complete with a family friendly cafe on the ground floor.”

We made a promo video to show how the egg is much more than just theatre (and a cafe) and to encourage young people to go along, to experience it for themselves.

It was our first (non-animated) project that was shot entirely in HD, using a Sony EX1 camera. I think I got some of the best footage I’ve recorded so far, so it was hard cutting it down in the edit! Luckily we’re working on a few other projects for the egg, going a bit more in-depth into some of the projects, so it’ll be of use there as well. :)

We got to meet some really talented people and see some awesome shows, so it’s been a great project to work on.

Having worked on a bunch of projects with the egg and the YPT (Young People’s Theatre) over the past few years, from play programmes to the “His Dark Materials” posters, we can totally recommend you check them out if you’re in Bath at any point. They always surprise me as to how good young people’s theatre can be!
